Did AKM production seriously cease forever in 77? IM SURE Tula or Izmash started back up for at least a commemorative edition year, or just to make some more, cuz Ive seen pics of some pretty brand spanking new AKM underfolders in 7.62x39mm

Poland supposedly stopped making the PMKMS in 92 correct? Well, guess what? I saw a post sample dated 1998. The left side of the rear sight block, where yugos are marked, had a written out thing on it, it said something like Radom, PMKMS 7.62x39mm, and on the trunion where it usuaslly is it said 1998 and the serial. I can post pics if anyone wants.

Yeah what's up with that? Izhmash still has the AKM and AKMS listen on its military products list.

They are just using old stocks.

These do not have the tension spring on the front, the spring was added around 1971 IIRC. The shape of the palm swells tend to make me think it is not an early 60s vintage set.

That does not appear to be the same set as the first picture you posted, these have the spring in the front of the lower handguard. This is probably a 71~75 vintage set. Can post a picture of the inside of the lower?

May I ask where you got those? Im looking for a Mid type set like that, for use on an AKMS. I think those are the best looking on AKMS rifles.
