I got a nice clean mag today at a gun show for $10.
It has the number 22 stamped on the spine.
Where did come from?

If I am not mistaken it is Romanian.sgtstinger said:I got a nice clean mag today at a gun show for $10.

Why, Yes...yes it is parkerized...but no "0"....Morning Wood said:It's Romy. Look for a "0" nearer to the bottom of the rib on the same side. I'll bet it's a parkerized mag, isn't it.

I have about five, maybe a couple more, all blued. I wonder if the parked ones are recent refinishes.Morning Wood said:Both blued and parked romy mags exist.
A Romanian factory was assigned the number 22. Not sure what city.Q-gunner2 said:Isn't "22" also a Polish factory, or am I thinking ammo?
+1.Richard W. said:I've got 5 or 6 Romanians with "22" stamped onto the spine. No ovals, just the numerals alone.
I have never seen or heard of an oval 22 on a mag rib, However, anyway you see it, 22 is, or should Romy on mags or ammo. By saying that, I have never seen it used by any other country. And if the Warsaw pact conventions were followed, this should hold true. Any exception will come from somewhere not subject to the Warsaw pact.TomM said:Is the "22" in an oval??
