Batob do you have performance specifications for the 6.5x39/6.5 Grendel? What weight bullet? 110 grains? 123 grains? What muzzle velocity per barrel length?
Man it is too early and it is very hard to find numerous informations. Everyting I hear I will write here and explain more if u have questions, it is not secret. So I understand what you ask. On serbian forums they speak the same. We heard there will be 3 types of military 6.5x39 at least and one of them for sniper (dmr M17) but what will be difference between that round and standard round we have no idea. On testings off course they know velocity weight and so on but they still dont speak about it. We should be thankfull that there is internet and at least we can share very interesting informations of making a new rifle. But personaly I understand why some people (from Zastava) stoped talking abut this rifle. For ex. in some testings for riability they tested 2 barrels each shot 13 000 rounds with same rifle, case just changing barrels and shoting not one problem. It was with standard serbian military 7.62x39. Than when PPU was developing their military 6.5x39 Zastava sent them rifle for testing. Everyting was ok but from PPU they said they had malfunctions. :p
So somebody can say it is not reliable rifle but in Zastava it was probably like this = "put that nice new barel on worst junk that was very much abused they will have problems but who cares no big deal barel is new."
Also, problem with information about this rifle is conected with politics. Serbian military general Dikovic said at the end of 2018 ALL serbian army will get new M17 to replace M70. Politicians say the same but not only rifles but new uniforms equipments and so on. So when they presented M17 to politicians 7-8 days ago it was with other equipment and uniforms also so they were not specific in details just about rifle. Going back to your question, here on this link
Dynamic Demonstration of a Part of the Project ?1500+? | Ministry of defence Republic of Serbia
In last video u can see from 1:30 sec soldier changing barels but old guy in uniform behind him is probably not soldier in my opinion.

edit: here is youtube link to the video

Another example of what I was speaking about in last post - these 2 guys on the ground with sniper rifle M07 and M17 in sniper version are NOT soldiers. They are test shoters from Zastava but they are acting in unforms as soldiers for politicians
On photos from the soldiers only guys with hidden faces, masks, are SF soldiers who were testing M17. But this is still prototype first series and Zastava sent their own shoters for presenting the rifle. The guy on the right with M17 was shoting baloons and hard human siluete targets from 500 till 600m and for every target he needed one bullet.

??? :: ?????: ????????? ?????????? ???? ?? 40 ??????? ?? ????? ??????

in first video from 3:05 you can see first time small burst full auto M17 6.5x39. It is shoting after rifle was for 12h at temperature -30C (-22F) and that is why there are no sights and soldier use gloves and not puting his face next to rifle lol

No, I sympathize with you. The thread was sidetracked, trolled and locked.

I read the whole thread back to front and was very interested until a point. I'm saying the thread devolved. No, I thought you were very respectful and walleye was debating a point, but went a way that could have been saved for later. Then trolled a little and then locked.

I want to learn how to send a ball of energy first.

Also like this thread and that rifle too.

Looks like a pretty fun rifle, any idea as to when/if we may see these?
When Bereta buys 49% of Zastava but since that info is only in serbian not in english there is no reason for anyone to belive me there is no proof for what I say.

I noticed where Serbia has posted new videos of their military in 2018. It appears Serbia may have purchased a few FN SCAR L 5.56 rifles. Curious if the FN SCAR L will be for special operations (special Brigade 1500) or Elite troops. Some of the video still showed the AK variant with quick change barrel for 7.62x39 and 6.5 Grendel (6.5x39). Any word if Serbia has abandoned the 6.5 Grendel AK. Any info would be appreciated Batob.

Even old Yugoslavia purchased foreign rifles for JNA and police SF back in the times... Now Serbia bought not only scar but also sig516 and they had a lot of other foreign rifles. It means nothing. I have no idea what "elite troops" are for u. Serbia did not abandoned M17 rifle. There is alot of informations but I already said why I will not write... I was not even on this forum for some time. But ok since I am here look at video on this link it is from yesterday.

And for translations just ask moderators to provide some other member who can speak serbian I know they are few around.

Thank you Batob for responding to this thread. I understand why you don’t visit this forum often but I do appreciate you posting the link to this video. When I mentioned elite troops I meant military units like the US Army Delta Force, US Army Rangers, Green Beret, Navy Seal teams or British/UK Special Air Services, SAS.

Great video, thanks again for posting.

Maybe I should troll my own thread...
In your list of elite troops you can add any other sf unit including serbian and this is how I see them comparing to true "elite" -

For example, probably our best sf unit in war in 1999 was called jso. But very few people know that jso reserve unit was the toughest. They were all serbian veterans from bosnian war few houndred of tough crazy guys who didnt give a fuck about anything. It was very complicated to command them and most of the stories nobody would believe anyway... Like when they were bored they started to use only knives so command ordered to take the knives from them and than they found them sharpening nail clips... Or when u want them to attack fast u tell them "there are american instructors and sf on that hill". Never mind that few 1000 soldiers were attacking for days without succes few 100 of them took that hill in few hours. Difference between serbian sf units and most of the others is that we never actually had discontinuety in warrior tradition. It is hard to explain... Just imagine for ex, english defeated Washington but rangers continued to fight for another 100 year than how would modern rangers be created or how would they look like today. Balkan is a strange place and Serbs gave a lot to world military tradition but it is mostly not recognised nor understood. But never mind... It is like one rule for us and another for everybody else. Actualy, zastava workers were joking and asking when MoD bought 2000 scars for army are they going to test them in institute like M17. And answer was like Cmon we both know scar is not for that. ln my opinion they will have very soon M17 with scar and other rifles in some sf units and after experienceand modernisations they will start to introduce M17 to all army.
