Sadly, there is no "authentic" way to convert them, due to the way the rear of the receiver was made into a "pistol".

Quickest, easiest, and somewhat authentic way would be to essentially glue a CAA buffer tube on there... The Bulgarians use them on some full sized models..While the upper tang that normally attaches the tube is gone (and machined into a normal receiver), the buffer tube can hid allot of that.

OP, I would wait this one out. Or get a quote from Mesa. They would probably be much less $$$. They come recommended by Rifle Dynamics.

 

The pistols are what? About $1000? Then almost another $2000 for convertion? At this point it might be cheaper to buy a SBR. Or if you already have the pistol, sell it and put that towards an SBR.

Although it would be unusual for a milled SBR

 

You could find someone to try, the underfolder would be easier and quite frankly bad ass. Resale value would be higher as you would have something offered from the factory. You could sell it easier in the future as well. Or find the side folding stock arsenal offers for this gun. These receivers aren't like the stamped version.

Mesa Kinetic Research out of Louisiana would do a good job as well.

Wow this guy is expensive. Close to 2000 dollars....

 

The folding mechanism that the triangle folder is based around is a trunnion that slips into a sheet metal receiver 1mm thick. The correct stock for this would be an under folding stock. That would be a beautiful gun with an underfolder like the military arsenal sbr offering.
