I heard that the partnership that ran the joint broke up as well as they were in the middle of changing locations. So things just fell apart. I understand that one of the orginal owners are trying to re-open.

those are the guys that started the false rumor a couple years ago about ATF banning importation of nonsporting barrels. Then everybody in a frenzy called the many ATF offices and they knew nothing about it until they got so many calls that they actually looked into the law and banned nonsporting barrel importation.

I met Ron , formally of Global Trades / Armory USA, at the Houston Gunshow this weekend. As I understand it, he has branched off into a new venture called "R.P.G. Arms". I picked up an "AUSA" AKM from him; Armory USA receiver, new Polish parts kit - all matching numbers, Steyr barrel, Bulgarian plastic furniture. Seems pretty good right now, will know more after it hits the range this week.

Ron said that the website is not up yet. I can't remember if he stated when he expected it to be done. Hopefully, it will be better maintained than the Global Trades site.

 

I saw "RPG" Industries at the last Big Town show in Mesquite. Merchandise was in the same old Global packaging, and they were even using the old vinyl ArmoryUSA/Global sign with new lettering on it.

TR was there before, was the production manager. I know he left for a while, and I can tell you the place went to shit without him.

 

I spent some time with TR at Global about a year ago. He helped me pick out an 85 which I really love. He was most helpful and I hope it works out for him.
