Finally getting into one of these (well; a VZ2008) from PSA. Should be here in a week or two.

Is there any current source of 20 round magazines? I found only one site that has em for $44/ea. Ouch ! Then I Stumbled onto a few old threads by a guy named Tim that was ordering them from Czech Republic. I found are European source at 35 euros each. Ouch again !

I'm ditching the little wire folding stock. I hate those. If I want to attach a solid original hardboard stock is there a hardware kit I have to get as well?

Yea. Pretty steep for a 20rd mag.

I did get in touch wit that fellow Tim that imported several from Czech Repub. Said his last shipment was lost in transit and REALLY lost several hundred bucks. A shame.

I've got a few, but never knew the story behind them. Interesting!

The Vz58 mags are similar to AK mags. They would be about the same process to mod to 20 rounds.
If you or someone you know has shortened AK mags the Vz is pretty simple. That may be what some of the 20's for sale are is cut downs etc.

I know it's been years since I started this thread but I did find 6) 20 round magazines. They look identical to the 30 rounders. Maybe they're cut down but they do look perfect like milsurp 30s. I'll be looking for a few more if anybody has a line on them.

If you found 20s you’re lucky. Yes they can be cut down but the aluminum bodies are harder to work with than steel bodied AK mags.

i’ve had a VZ-2008 for about 5 years and I’ve only found 10 round mags on eBay from a seller in Czech Republic.

I also just just picked up a beaver barf fixed stock with hardware for under $50 from another CR seller thru eBay, was unissued. As much as I like the folder, the stock is more comfortable.

Clink the Link: VZ58 magazine CSA 20 rd | VZ58 USA

Somebody still wants a Czech-made, 20-rd. mag for the VZ-58. $45. I really prefer 20 over 30-rd. ergos., but the market price stinks.

These indicate "in stock". The link to "VZ58 USA" is on Original CZ Forums, under "VZ 58 forum" in a "20-rd. OEM" topic, on the second page.

:) ----- 5 and 10rd. CSA mags are also "In Stock" for CA, MA or whichever people etc. I - never- said that they were low-priced.....

If your state allows VZ-58s but only 10-rd. mags, you are far more fortunate than Canadians, whose VZs etc recently were Banned by their Apparatchiks.

Badass. Thank you so much. Pricey but rare so glad to know about these. Cant believe I haven't stumbled into these in all my searches over the years . Gonna try 4 and see how they run.

Now if we could only get Maglula to make a loader for these as well as M77 mags.

You're welcome.

Having bought about nine of the Hungarian Tankers for my three AKMs (I have No Other AK mags....gave them away for free), no longer interested in pricey mags for any gun.
Really like the Tanker's much better ergos than any 30-round mag...

* Meine Damen und Herren (my ladies and gents): Want to save ammo consumption, even if you have a nice ammo reserve? Think, as an individual.

Load just 5 rds. in a VZ or AKM mag, Slowly shoot it, then sit and text a friend about any random subject, or skim over a gun website. Ponder the relaxing outdoors (or indoor range).
Go shoot about 10 rounds of .22LR--

--then pause a bit, go Slowly shoot another 5 rounds of 7.62x39 (.223, or 5.45 in AKM). I have had, for years, over several thousands rds of 7.62x39., and used this method in 2015, 2017, 2018.......
