I have seen this asked several times(different boards)and the answer is always no difference.
I have shot both and see no difference myself,the bulg is newer surplus than the russian atleast the bulg I have gotten was something like 10 years newer.

I have heard that the bulg has a slightly higher FPS than the russian but a buddy and I played with a cheap chrono and I dont remember any real difference.

I prefer the russian because the guys I buy it from ship it in the wooden crate
while the bulg I have gotten was from century and they just ship the tins in a cardboard box

AIM Surplus ships in the wooden crate if you purchase 2 tins. i have 2 crates of bulgarian with the circle 10 stamp on the metal strap that is around the crate.

 

A guy on arfcom chronoed both and the Bulgy was about 100 fps faster and more consistant.

I purchased 6 tins last month from AIM that came in two per cardboard box. I missed out. didn't see any crate. :sad:

 

I purchased 8 tins in April and 2 tins in May and they both came in crates. Bryan did say there was some water damage to alot of crates and could not ship all of them in crates. I tried to get some extra crates for the ammo I got from Century, before they cut us off in Washington.

 

That explains it then. Those Crates are nice.

I missed out on that one. So....I'll have to order again right???

I've noticed in my SBR Krinkov, the Bulgarian stuff is noticeably louder and gives off a bigger flash than the Russian or Wolf stuff I have.

And a note: The Bulgarian ammo I have is from 1989, the Russian stuff is from 1976. Kinda cool to have some Soviet Cold War era ammo that works pretty well, IMO :razz:

 

I ran BG, RU and Pol in my SAR-2 and BG AKs, I noticed some grouping difference but in general, at 100yd, they all grouped very well.
