Need info on SAR-3

1. Will a SAR-3 take a regular Romy AK-74 front sight base that uses the muzzle brake?

2. Is the untreaded barrel stub the right size to thread for a standard AK 14mm thread?

3. Is the barrel OD the right size to replace the front sight post with an AKM/AK-74 front sight base?

This is the one you need, it's 22mm. I have threaded the SAR-2 but not the 3. I have a pic of one installed I'll post as soon as I can find it. AK 167

Thanks for the pic sasm7. It looks the same and I believe the barrel stub on the SAR-3 looks right to go into the 22mm extension. I did an early Ratmil Romy 74 about 10 years ago

but I wasn't sure about the SAR being the same. Actually I would prefer the AKM sight and slant brake but not sure what kind of chore that would be.

I was looking at a SAR-3 for sale. Not sure if I want a 5.56 AK as half the benefit of an AK is the 7.62x39 cartridge.

Couple of good things about them they are fun to shoot & plenty of available ammo, but the 7.62 I have to agree with.

Get both, I love my SAR-3's, and shoot them most of the time, but i always save some range time for one of my 7.62x39 killers!

SASM7 ... was the detent pin hole already drilled? and Did you press it on or just coax it with a B.F.-Hammer?
