Maybe a silly question, but I am confused. :goof:
Does the lower handguard spring go on the front (retainer side) or the rear (trunnion side) of the lower handguard?
I ask, because I have two lower handguards I have bought that each have the spring in opposite ends of the handguard.
I was going to install a spring in a new IWD handguard and noticed the difference in the other handguards.
I know APEX says on their webpage for a NOS spring that it goes in the front.
Actually, the handguard that has the spring in the rear seems to fit the rifle better. But, this is the only one I have ever seen put on the rear. Other handguards I have purchased either had no spring or the spring was in the front.
Only variable I can think of is the handguard with the rear spring is for an AK-74. It was part of an AK-74 furniture set I bought for a Saiga conversion. I have no AK-74 experience.
Any suggestions/advice?
