I have not tried my EOTech on any AK's but it has functioned without error on other weapons. Accuracy is very good.
The model you have posted has a ballistic reticle specific to .223 caliber munitions.

The magnifier allows me to shoot out to 100 yds. with accuracy while some report it's good for them out to 200 yds.
FYI...I use the 2-0....good enough for my needs but not NV compatible

Any will work,...that's one reason I chose the 2-0.

The single, dual and triple dot will work with the AK's so long as you zero accordingly.

The long distance bullet trajectory will be off with the caliber specific EOTECH.

Hope this helped...

Buy an Aimpoint PRO or a T-1 instead, with a 2moa red dot alone you can hit head size steel at 100 yards all day and much further is possible with younger eyes.

Yup, gotta agree with this. The EOTech is heavier, with shorter battery life, and with the recent wandering zero issues is not a good buy - unless you can get it for many times cheaper than the asking price.

As far as I can tell from that webpage, it looks like an EOtech with a 3x magnifier built into a single mount. From their webpage "http://www.eotechinc.com/holographic-weapons-technology/ballistic-reticle-information" the "-4" at the end of the model number means the reticle comes with four dots calibrated for 5.56/.223 bullet drop at various ranges. For an AK, you could simply get the regular EOtech reticle( the "-0", no BDC), or maybe try the .300 BLK one since it would have similar ballistics to 7.62x39. A disadvantage to using EOtechs in general in AKs is that they're designed with the AR in mind with respect to the optics height over bore(You will need a cheekrest to avoid a chinweld on the stock). Another option to consider besides the EOtech with a magnifier, is a 1-4x scope with an illuminated reticle and a true 1x setting so it can be used like a red dot. There are several good options for that kind of optic at your 1K price point, but I'm not sure what the options are for a 7.62x39 BDC on those scopes. Not sure any of this is worth the money, depends what you're trying to do exactly. If you just want a red dot, I'd recommend an aimpoint.

I've had problems with my EXPS2-2's zero shifting on my AR but I'm still kind of torn on sending it back for a refund. I have the magnifier for it too. They say the zero only shifts in extreme temp changes or whatever but here that's a mild winter vs 100 degrees and humid as hell. The 2 dots are why I wanted it in the first place and I don't think Aimpoint has that. Probably should have just ponied up for an ACOG to begin with.

Had one on my Daniel Defense AR and loved it. Best reticle out there IMO. I had no problemts with mine at all. Probably only 1500 rounds through it. I DID send it back and have regretted it. I will soon order the EXPS3-0 tan version and magnifier. Buy it with a credit card so it extends your warranty.

Also, very accurate and good glass with the magnifier. Was hitting 1.25 MOA at a local 100 yard indoor range with the rifle on a bag.
