Has anyone used one? Mine keeps breaking, the trigger bar keeps bending out of shape and essentially turns the ak into a bolt action rifle.
I am looking for anyone that can help me out
Thanks

I have gotten the MARS to work in Zastava ZPAP M70s and M72 RPKs, I made a video showing how to do the mod and bend the transfer rod/Op rod to length so it functions correctly

I added timestamps in the YT comments so you can jump around. I did very few edits and went through the entire process so it's right under 1 hour long in case people want to see everything I did.

Thanks to Trump FRTs are legal as they should be. I have no experience with the MARS frt. This thread and other posts on other forums is not convincing me to buy a MARS.

I'm really considering a Hoffman Super Safety AK trigger. If the Super Safety works as well as I have seen firsthand on ARs and soon to be on MP-5s I'd be happy.

*I don't know Hoffman. I'm not schilling for any vendor. Google is your friend is you want a Super Safe AR.

It sounds to me like MARS and any other makers whose trip bars keep bending don’t understand metallurgy. If they used the right type of steel and hardened it to springyness (new word) like an AK military select lever then it probably wouldn’t happen. Also, I’ve been following a Super Safety thread over on Uzitalk and the Hoffman looks like the way to go… that is as long as your state doesn’t specifically ban anything that increases the rate of fire in a SA firearm. My state, VA, did specifically ban bump stocks, etc. last year so I’m sol on frt’s and super safeties.

That wasn't Trump, that was the Federal District Court of Northern Texas.
trump didnt make frts legal lmao.
they have been legal.
I should have clarified, yes T$ did not make them legal as they should have been all along. From what I understand is the DOJ under T$ is not going to bother continuing or perusing anti 2A like our former anti 2A president's agendas.

Buy you FRTs and binary triggers now and enjoy. I'm partial to Super Safety's at a fraction of the cost. No matter what you choose, it is still one pull equals one shot. Any sane objective person can understand these parts do not make any firearm a machine gun by definition.

Also the NFA needs to be repealed in it's entirety as it is gay, retarded and anti constitutional.

I have two each of the Mars and DNT styles. I commented in the other thread regarding the DNT.
For the Mars, you are going to have to make your own trip wire. The one supplied is too short and, in my experience, too small in diameter. I have remedied this using a coat hanger and torch. The carrier will have a tendency to want to ride over the wire and lock up the action. I think I have it solved and will know when I get out to test it again.

Tested it this morning and it’s 100% now. My thicker wire works better and I was able to get the length needed for proper functioning.
I was able to squeeze off doubles without thinking about it. Tested the DNT version with a hammer retarder installed and it didn’t work. Interestingly, it fired single shots without locking up the action. The retarder is out and it’s back to fully semiauto. I’m working on dialing down the gas to slow it down some.

Got the gas dialed in on the pistol. It’s throwing cases 10’ to 15’ now. When I go lower, it cycles semiauto consistently interestingly enough. If I get bored, I may try to fab a gas selector to go between semi and forced reset.
I opted to Mars trigger the RPK. I had to fab another piece of coat hanger to get the cam working properly. The testing this morning confirmed it and I burned through a few hundred rounds between the three.
The Maadi and RPK are Mars equipped and the pistol is a heavily modified DNT version. I can’t wait for the price of ammo to drop, lol!

It’s my own creation built from leftovers and out of spec pieces that could be re-engineered. It started with a milled Rooskie barrel that was cut off in front of the gas block. It’s the only aow in my hoard. It’s, by far, the most fun of the three to shoot with a FRT.
A lathe and mill can make anything possible.

I'm trying to install my Kono a Mars clone, and the wire hook is too thick for me to get clearance for my safety lever.

How to proceed which parts to modify or replace?

Its a milled Arsenal SAM-7 Carbine my rifle.

Also, make sure the wire has as close to a 90* bend as possible where it goes through the cam. I made these from wire hangers:

The left sides pass through the cam. Once you get it ironed out, you may have to make your own if your carrier doesn’t contact the front of the receiver/trunnion like this:

If you run into anything else, post it.

For starters I'm fairly new with these kits. I put both on Zastava's. On one, I had no issue with clearance and the other gave me hell. I know people hate the work Dremel, but that is what I did to the lateral side of the wire along the cam end. I even took some material off the cam. If you do that, just go slow because you can't add back.
there is another video on here of a gentleman installing one. For me the key was getting the wire cut the perfect length with minimal play in the cam with the bolt closed.

Still haven’t gotten out to thoroughly vet the two different FRTs. Maybe this weekend.
I did try to fit the DNT/HGW style FRT in a ‘74. The rear trunnion interferes with the cam and I have no desire to modify either at this point. I will try the Mars trigger eventually. I’m not in a rush to burn through the 5,45 that I have rat holed, but it will probably work without any modifications to the cam and/or rear trunnion.

So I'm trying to put mars in to my Zpap m92 pistol. Has anyone done this yet? I'm having problems with some metal in the trunnion are people making cuts and taking some material out, or are we just trying to bend the retainer plate? Is it possible to trim the cam on the little break side under the whole that buddy said to oval out? I just realized this is probably really hard to understand, I'll send pictures.

I ran a frt 15 on a PSA KS47 build and had similar fitment issues—had to shave a bit off the selector stop and adjust the disconnector spring. Once it was in, it ran fine, but it’s definitely not plug-and-play. The AK Mars might need even more tweaking depending on tolerances. Would be cool to see someone successfully drop in a frt 15 without mods, but I wouldn’t count on it.
