I know that K-var used to import these things. Now I can't seem to find one. Any info on when they might be available again?

Thanks,
Keith

Dos anyone know if a 22mm flash hider was made for a Romanian 5.45x39 front sight base ?
I'll I've seen is a AK-74 22mm Muzzle break for the Romanian 5.45x39 rifles.
And if they do not exist were can I have one made ?

Also I would be interested in a 22mm muzzle cap or tread protector for the Romanian 5.45x39 front sight base.

That way I can switch things around with ease, 1.Break, 2.flashhider, 3.Cap.

Why even have a threaded barrel if all that is available is one type of muzzle break ??????????

Back on 9/24/08 I emailed www.cncwarrior.com about the US AIM clone hiders.
This is what he said:
I feel terrible that it has taken this long to get started. Things just
kept coming up and pushing my prototype work out. I plan to cut them
this week and will let you know for sure when we get going.
I thought I would have heard from him by now about production. I am always optimistic and his shipping has been dirt cheap in the past.

If I don't hear from him by Monday 10/13 I'll send another email encouragement.

Finally I have some contact from CNC Warrior regarding months of my encouraging them to produce some US made copies of the Romanian AIMR flash hiders. Both straight and conical, I assume that they are both bored for 7.62 with safety and interchangability in mind.

I am not connected to www.cncwarrior.com I just emailed them about the interest from those of us that were looking for such a product. I have seen the originals sell on the board a couple of times either they were too expensive or I was too late. I believe this new product will suit my needs.

I was emailed this picture.

They stated that they will be available in a couple of days on their website. I will post more detailed pictures when I receive mine.

They are long, the Romanian factory coned model that member joelad gave me the dimensions on was OAL: 2.640". I gave this dimension to CNC Warrior in the beginning of my contact with them.

These are longer than the Type 84 flashhider that I bought from CNC Warrior and it was the reason for me think of contacting them for making this model.

When I get mine I will set it next to other more common brakes, nuts for height examples in a picture.

Being long is what makes them unique. The longer flash slots tend to brake up the muzzle flash, like on M1A / M14 & FAL L1A1s though these are not that long.
We have seen some even longer factory Polish and Russian flashhiders examples, on this board, used for Nightvision mounted AKs that are longer than this type of Romanian flashhider models.

These should be close to an exact replica. I was given detailed dimensions by members of this board that have the original straight and coned Romanian flashhiders. I forwarded all dimensions along with every clear picture of the Romanian flashhiders that I have collected.

If you find one closer to the original let me know.

The originals Romanian flashhiders when sold on the boards have been going for $75 to $80 or only with the complete carbine kit, when the seller knows what they have.
Sometimes they sell do for $25 to $30 if the seller is not aware of what they have or how rare the flashhider is. If somebody finds a Romanian flashhider at this price they are really lucky, I have been looking for a few years and no luck yet.

When CNC Warrior list this flashhider on their website within the next few days I will be one of the first to order one of each.

The pics are blurry but are those straight or conical? Also do you think they will be blued or finished before sale?
There are both in the pic.

I spoke with Denny yesterday and they should be listed shortly.

I'm in for one of each.

The picture, to me, appears to have 3 different brakes.
Coned, straight, and straight with a deeper cut. He mentioned in the email that there was some straight cut that had slots cut a little too deep and may be discount them.

I suspect the finish would be black oxide. In the picture looks to me like he got them back from refinishing and they are covered in oil. If they were bare steel they would look silver. I don't see any blued parts on their website. I will be painting mine with Gunkote to match my rifles.

In the pic of the original it looks like the notches are aligned with the solid space while in the picture of the reproductions the notches are aligned with the slots.
