Just mill a 1/8 deep slot 1/8" wide on the top of the barrel between where the port is and where the port needs to be. Works like a charm. The gas block covers it and youd never know the difference.

Good to know! I thought it would weaken the barrel and possibly cause a rupture but I guess most of the pressure is at the chamber.

Nah. pretty common trick. Plenty of meat on the barrel there.

Those are huge. The gas regulator is just a shut off. I NEVER go over 1/8" port size and thats even with SBR's.
