Kyle,they work very well for 1st generation NV.I have'nt tried it but was told the use of an IR illuminator would greatly improve the images.The set comes with a battery and charger,I've just played around with them a few times but had no problem with the battery.I also have a users manual in English but they're really simple to operate.
