I picked up two AK47 parts kits. One is a 1959 Russian Type 3 and the other is a Romainian "G" kit.

The T3 is all most all matching parts. No serial number on the safty, different serial number on the bolt carrier and cover.

The "G" is all matching except the safty. The but plate is toast and the butt stock is covered with a plastic film that is peeling off.

I am looking to have one built.

Any suppestions on a builder?

Yeah, Turbo lost his house and shop last year to a wildfire, I dont know that he's in business right now.

OP, you didnt specifically state that you wanted a reweld, is that what you want or are you considering a 100% new receiver?

If I deside to do a build my Russian T3 parts kit I would do a reweld. My son's Russian AK was done by My Guns Firearms Manufacturing and I really like it. I bought him a beautiful Russian T3 Bayonet for it.

ptica, I thought the upside down U date coded the receiver to 1959.

Some parties of AK (and other soviet weapons, Pistolet Makarova (PM) for example) on 1950-1960 years marked with letter-index.

Type3 often marked with it. Letter index - last symbol in number similar year of production.

Use russian alphabet:

1949 А
1950 Б
1951 В
1952 Г
1953 Д
1954 Е
1955 Ж
1956 З
1957 И
1958 К
1959 Л
1960 М

Use russian alphabet:
You have old wrong info withoud any proofs ;)

Do you really think this is t3 in 1953? :) 2930106.jpg

And please show these AK markings:
1955 Ж
1956 З

And what about "P"?:)

What year must be AK and AKM with "P", if we know, that AK was finished manufacture at 1959 year.
