I bought some 7.62x39 and I'm not sure what it is. It came 200 rounds in a sealed green battlepack, packed in 20 round unmarked grey cardboard boxes. Ammo is brass cased and headstamped simply "76 7.62x39."

That's my favorite AK fodder.............

And no one knows for sure who's it is.

What most of us think is that it's Portuguese made for export, although Spain, Belgium, and Finland have all been bandied about as sources.

Whatever..........it's damn fine ammo and I'd love to get my hands on more.

Yeah ,I really like this mystery ammo too. I bought it for $20 a battlepack at Knob Creek and my only regret is that I didn't buy more. While it's probably too old to count on as SHTF ammo, it seems to be damn good practice stuff.

Here's a couple of interesting facts about The Brass Ammo.

It groups up decently by AK standards - average or slightly above.
but here's a secret....

Zero your weapon at 50 Yards with about any ammo, then shoot the mystery Brass.
The Brass will strike 3 inches lower and about 3 inches to the right of Zero. Try it.

It's nice ammo, however you'll want to re-zero your rifle if you shoot any other ammo.

It does OK in my MAK, only 3/4" low and dead center compared to Wolf.
