Title pretty much says it all. I am new to the 84s and would like a list of mags that work / can be modded to work with the 84s. Thanks!

There is a video on here and youtube also that shows Galil mags being modified to work.
I tried these on a lark and they fit and function fine, go figure1
I have a BWK92 and Beryl mags that Arms of America sells seem to work all right. The Type 84s have very tight magwell tolerances and are particularly non-interchangeable with other mags. RTG parts said in an IG post that they do plan on making another 5.56 mag for factory chinese norinco 223 rifles which are available commercially in Europe next year hopefully. Some people have modified C10 Arsenal mags but that is no longer feasible. Current-production AK 5.56 mags being imported are from Poland(both Radom and WBP), Russia(Puffgun), Bosnia(AC Unity) and Serbia(Zastava M85/M90/M21 steal mags) that are now expensive and far too wide to work in Norinco 223 rifles.
On AKstuff.com which imports the Puffgun mags this is stated:
"This mag is for AK-101 series which shoot .223 (5.56x45). It will also work for Russian Veprs, Bulgarian SLR-106, and Romanian SAR-3 (it will not work with stock Saiga-223 rifles, see pic #3) It was reported to us that after some minor fitting, these work on pre-ban .223 Norinco 84S. "

Sorry for necro bump, but do you mean that the WBP mags will run in a Norinco 223 rifle? I just got my hands on a BWK92 that I am trying to deban.

There are 2 types of mags being imported from Poland. Standard Radom Beryl mags are what I have. WBP mags are supposed to have the same dimensions but idk because I cmdont have one but eye are a lot cheaper. I have also modified ACunity mags to work
I ordered a beryl mag, a promag, and a wbp mag. Let's see what runs.
Some come here to sit and think Others come to shit and stink I come here to scratch my balls and read the poetry on the walls
.
The older black Beryl mags locked in and functioned fine in a BWK-92 that I sold off earlier this year.

But the translucent-green Beryl mags would not ‘rock and lock”.. but they were too expensive for me ($30+) to try hand fitting them back 5 years ago.
Hmm, how tight were they, and was it the magwell, or just the lugs? I'll try light filing on the locking lugs and see what happens.

I've heard that a few times that there is a video showing galil mags modified to fit the 84s and still can never find the video. Link to it?

In my BWK92 the only mags that would work were the factory chicom steel and the promag poly mags with a little work on the rear locking lug. Even some of the chicom mags needed alittle work to fit. i ,ve heard this was common with the .223 variety
I tried finding it for you Tasty. But I'm not finding it. The guy was from Alaska or Canada. Not 100%. Maybe someone on here has a link for you.
