What is that thing?

What is that metal thing that I see attached to the left side of the receivers on SAR's and WASR's near the bottom rear?

How come I don't see it on kit-built guns?

That's a scope mount.

Older Romanian military rifles, that the "G" kits are from, didn't have it.

Bottom edge of receiver...in between pistol grip and magazine.

I had (and sold) two SAR-1's...they both had it. This is a WASR I'm thinking about buying. It has it too....

Thanks. I think I'll pass on the WASR.

Wish I hadn't sold my two SAR-1's. What a dumb-ass.

Still have my Arsenal SA M-7 Classic though :dance: ...
