SO, I'm wondering how this "special cartridge" and pistol are able to be silent without a can on it... and how it works... does anybody have one? can we? I'm looking for some nerdy explanation of how this is accomplished. While looking I found this site with a lot of Spetsnaz weapons, it's interesting; good old Russian weapons that so much (over)engenered that they'll be perfect for everything, or nothing, or just one rare application (like their underwater weapons)

yes I have a few cases with the piston in them.

The case walls are reinforced and there is a piston inside the case.

You pull the trigger, the round goes of and extends the piston into the ass end of the bullet to send it down range. No gas escapes the casing, hence the lack of a boom.

hmm, interesting, thanks for clearing that up.... It'd be a bitch to reload, and a fortune to buy I bet... I think I was reading that they have a muzzle velocity of about 490 fps and 66 fp of energy.... thrown rocks are silent too!

It would be impossible to reload because you can reshape the piston.
