The damn thing had an original Romanian Trunnion block on it and was dated 1967! It had the romanian symbol of the pointed up arrow within the triangle.... I couldnt believe it. I took a pic of it with my camera phone.

So is Romania using old parts to build WASRS???? I wish my Wasr had the original markings like this one did- It was $525 OTD...

Yes they are. I saw several last weekend at a gunshow that had numbers ranging from the late 60's to the mid 70's.

Very cool.... I wish I could grab one with those markings.. Way better then my 2003 marked one :sad:

The Romanians have been mixing in surplused new and used parts since they starting exporting in 1997. Current RPK rifles are built up demilled parts.

My new Wasr 10/63 has markings like that. The receiver is not dimpled but it looks like a great rifle nonetheless. The quality of these Wasrs are much better than those from a few years ago.
