Nice pics, but that boat is still a piece of floating junk. :twisted: West Coast boats all day long!

Big E, Leyte Gulf, and some Brits that showed up one day.

Leyte Gulf CG 55 is our primary air defense and just about every thing else she was usually with in eye shot the whole depolyment.

We transited the Suez when SHTF in Egypt. A cool statue on the Egypt side is the Giant front end of an AK I wish I would have gotten a picture of it.

That boat was orignally a West Coat ship Stationed in Alameda! :wink:

Oh that little bit of rust is nothing, we had been on deployment about a month at that point in the deployment. You should had seen the Enterprise when we pulled into home port, the ship was an orange color and we where missing our water line ;)

Rock of Gibraltar


Morocco


Port Visits
Lisbon, Portugal 4 Days
Marmaris, Turkey 4 Days
Bahrain 4 Days
Palma, Spain 4 Days
Souda Bay, Crete 12 hours
Longest stretch between port visits was around 70 Days, Total deployment time was 180 Days. 2 Beer Days, You get a beer day after spending 40+ days at sea and wont see a port with in 5 days.

I think alot of these are from Lisbon, I cant tell you much about any of them since I didnt take the pictures or go on any of these tours.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

My dad was part of the first crew back in 1962,and got to play in Cuba.
