I use thunderbird to check my old Aol email acct. I am alos using Gmail, but alot of email still comes to my AOL mail.

I have the settings set to keep old mail, but it still only has the last 2 weeks of email, much like AOL. Aside from totally ditching the AOL email, can I change the way it dumps it?

Are you saying thunderbird is deleting email sitting in your inbox? This seems odd I have email 2 years old sitting in my thunderbird inbox. Did you set the retention policy? Please clarify.

Better yet just right click on your thunderbird inbox and click the retention policy tab. It should be obvious what to change though if I am reading your post correctly you've already changed it. By default there is no retention policy.

I think My AOL IMAP connection is deleting them and I am not sure how to override it.

I think IMAP leaves it on their server, POP actually puts it on your machine, so it's permanently there. Can you change it from IMAP to POP?
