Remember All in the family?

"Boy the way Van Halen Played
Videos that MTV played.
Guys like us, we had it made
Those were the days.

Didn't need no thumbhole stock
The ATF could suck my %@#$
Gee my old AK would rock,
Those were the days".

Just reminiscing about the mid 80s when i bought my first "assault" rifles and other fun guns.

Colt AR-15A2 carbine: $650
Frianchi SPAS 12: $550
HK 91: $760
UZI B Model: $500
SA M1A: $750
Glock 17: $350
Cobray M-11 $175

Though I didnt own one there was a coupon in the local Thrifty Nickle:
Norinco AK-47, Bayonet, sling, 500 rounds of 7.62x39 for $250 With this coupon!

Hasn't a general raise in wages covered the inflated prices of rifles and handguns?

I was referring in part to prices, but moreover the availability of such things as Galils, real UZIs, HK battle rifles, Poly AKs, Steyer AUG, and Sig rifles. Heck, even then the AUG was a $2k rifle!

I remember going with my Dad and buying a .22 revolver... at Rich's.
Later it became the land of the $100 shirt at the mall.

I remember when it was announced that the Cold War ended. I thought to myself we were at war? I was a kid in the 80's. When Bart Simpson was the same age as me. The Terminator movies, Alien, Total Recall, Knight Rider, The Highway Man, The Fall Guy, ALF, McGuyver, Dallas, and Mr. Belvedere.

I remember in high school being the gun nut thumbing through Shotgun news and drooling over the $70-80 Finnish M-39 Mosin-Nagants. Trying to figure out the difference between pre-ban and post ban. I remember I wanted a Glock 10mm back then.

I also had a full auto M-16A1 and a Beretta 92 toy. A bunch of cap guns pistols and revolvers. Oh and a blaster from Star Wars.
