How much does it cost to have the folding stock fitted to an existing Vepr K in 7.62x39 and who is the aftermarket source for it? It really compliments the rifle.

The stocks and folding mechs are from ACE Ltd. We got tired of waiting on R.A. and did those ourelves. Home jobs. Several companies are working on receiver adapter blocks for the Vepr.

It will be much cheaper and more "professional" to use these blocks than for us to do a "home job".

Just want to make sure everybody gets the best work and products for their money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the compliments guys! We had a blast doing those!

The 3 color soft-edge camo one is my personal gun. Ace stock and folding mech.

I cut the pistol grip off the R.A. buttstock and use a standard ACE "cut the tang" block. It does not fit in a Vepr receiver well at all. A lot of belt sanding is required to make it fit.

You then have an issue with the receiver angle cuts. On both sides and the bottom you have a "step down" if you will.

I purchased an electrical junction box cover lid from Home Depot (same thickness as Vepr reciever walls!) and cut pieces to fit these areas. I epoxied them on and put 10-32 screws thru the side ones and filled in the screw heads so it would look like rivets. I wanted it to look like a riveted in rear folding trunion device. Not entirely successful.

I still had a gap between the top of the pistol grip and the bottom of the receiver. I used Brownell's Acraglass bedding material to fill in this gap. I had never used this product before and did not properly apply the "non-bonding" agent between the grip and receiver. It is now permanently attached to the gun!!!! My first time and I made a boo-boo.

It is rock solid as hell though!! LOL!! All in all it turned out very well and is extremely rugged. We are a refinishing shop. We do not have mill machines and euipment. Yet.That is all coming later down the road.I would not feel comfortable offering this service. It is too "garage days" for my taste.

We do stand behind our camo and refinishing services though and gladly advertise them as some of the best in the industry!

Thanks for the compliments on the finishes and I hope this answers any questions. Feel free to contact us for anything else we can provide to the community.

Stock finish on VEPR

Biggerstick47, Just curious; who did the stock finish on your VEPR (the first pic in your post of 03Feb,2006) and what type of paint or finish was used? Looks nice, thought about doing something along those lines to my VEPRK. Thanks.

THUNDERKISS, we did the stocks for biggerstick47 using DuraCoat.
They sure look nice. You guys do other work on AK's/RPK's too? Looking to do some nice stuff to a new VEPRK in 7.62x39 IF and when it ever comes in. I am primarily interested in possibly doing finish work and installing additional hardware.
