I saw what was left of an M48 sniper years ago at a gun show. Didn't have a scope and the stock was missing a large chunk and the finish was terrible. No doubt it saw some heavy use. The seller had it marked as "WWII Czech Sniper" for $300.
I have 3 or 4 of the Yugo M48 snipers in my collection, and somewhere in my sniper parts and accessories I have a few extra examples of the various scopes and mounts used on these.
These are interesting rifles, and proof that the religious and ethnic conflicts in the Balkans that stretch back through WW2, WW1, and into the Middle Ages are still alive and well, and ready to erupt into violence and mass murder at the slightest opportunity.
