My Wz.88 kit had a broken sling loop, I will weld the loop closed.

The attachment strap was worn to the point that the loop could almost spin around when attached to the side folder base.

I plan to recut the strap with a little thicker material similar to the thickness of a milled rear sling loop strap. It just seemed to me that thicker steel would have prevented this damage.

What to do about the rivet I removed to do the repair. The hole is smaller than the rivet used for the center support.

Should I use a nail and flatten it like a rivet?
Or
Order a box of rivets that fit just to get one for the repair?

Left is a removed AMD-65(strap is double the thickness)and Right is Tantal in need of repair.

How about just grinding down the thickness of a standard rivet or center support? Of course if you had a lathe you could really do it correct. A crude method would be mount it in a drill press and hold a file to it, that should turn it down nicely and if you are off some no big deal, it is just a rivet.

If you have no rivets you could always weld it on where the rivet hole was located.
