So over a year ago i busted out my korean drum to shoot, after winding the drum i noticed that it wouldnt hold tension after a few winds. So today i finally got around to taking the drum apart to see what was up and i noticed that everything was in tact, but the rivet that holds the spring and allows it to create tension without slipping broke. I was thinking of replacing the rivet but it looks like it will be near impossible with the spring still in the drum. Has anyone ever taken the spring out of one of these drums and successfully put it back in? I know alot of people on other forums say to just throw it in the trash, but i feel kind of silly throwing a 65 dollar drum away over a rivet.

Yes, you can remove the spring and reinstall.

Once you have the carriage out you can pop the cover off the spring. Push the shaft out and the spring is now free since your rivet has separated.

Re rivet, wrap the spring back up and put it back together.

There used to be a sticky but it's gone...?
