Are they as awesome as they seem? I've never fired one round of 5.45x39 but I want one. Be cheaper to SBR my UZI though. But damn, the AKS74U just ooze's CDI!

while i dont own one, i do shoot alot of 5.45 and was never really into them that much. Then back in Oct i got to shoot a bunch of mags out of a full auto aks74u. it was enough to make me regret not getting a tula kit when they were easy to be had. it was just plain FUN to shoot. The look and feel is just cool. ive shot uzi's too and would pick the 74u over them. so to answer your question YES they are as awesome as they seem.

after about a year and a half of parts sitting in a box i finally got a chance to get mine built one weekend when i had some time off. 9 month wait for my form 1 to come back approved and another 9 months wait to get time to get around to building it. Besides my RPk-74 its definitely one of my favorites. You wont regret it if you get one they are only rising in price.

I've want'd to get in the 5.45 game. However, I'm pretty committed to 5.56, 7.62x39 and 7.62 NATO. Sadly, I missed out on the cheap 5.45 ammo and mag's. Anybody have a 7.62 suchka? Was one ever factory built?

I got lucky and was able to purchase one of the K-var Virgin bulgarian 7.62 krink kits with a bulgarian barrel. Its still sitting in the box just received the receiver for it a few weeks ago so it will be awhile before its built also been sitting a year already.

I have 2 in 7.62 and 2 in 5.45. I like both calibers and don't really have one thats the all out favorite. That said I have been liking the 12.5" stuff more and more ak105, ak104 or even a self built one I have. Arsenal made a factory 7.62 Krink. The SLR107UR

NXCHESTER and Joe, those are seriously awesome!

They're my favorite guns, by far. Always have been since I first saw one. Also the build I'm most proud of. Definitely takes a lot of patience and money though! Especially now with the NFA so behind. This pair was built by Cameron87, the one with vented HGs is mine. (these were posted in the krinkov forum, sorry for the double post of them but Cameron makes the best "gun-porn" pics IMO)

I love the AK-105 it has the compactness factor, feels good on my shoulder and is a smoother shooter than the AKSU IMHO. I still can't see myself ever parting with my little bitch though!

Though I do wish I'd known the Tula kits would one day come in I'm glad I had my Bulgarian built. Don't expect them to be a long distance weapon. They are fun though!

I agree with you I love my krinkov but the 12.5" gun is the way to go. I sold off my 5.45 a few years ago and bought everything in 556 I like my 106UR but my go to gun is my 106CR.

virgin Bulgarian AKS-74U kit with original barrel built by AZEX in it's current configuration. I plan on putting Russian furniture on it it in the next week thanks to Tantal (vented handguard set) on the forum and skipbo32 (Tula plum grip) on Gunbroker.

Keep the pictures coming... the krink pic thread barely gets new posts this is great.

I agree with what everyone said about the 105's. I have an Arsenal 107CR I plan on chopping soon. Hopefully after that I can afford to build a 105. I bought a second Tula kit first though because it is my favorite gun and I highly doubt I'd ever been able to get another for 775 anytime soon.

Looks awesome man, I'd love to see it with the vented on there too. It's damn hard to stick to one furniture set with AKSUs!
