Here are two Russian refurbs that I won...

I picked up the 1950 at my FFL yesterday. The crappy rubber buttplate extension came right off, and it sure looks pristine. The blackening on the bolt face, bottom of bolt, etc. is really intact, leading me to believe it is relatively unmucked with since refurb. Unfortunately, they didn't replace the barrel when it was refurbed, and there is a little frost in the non chromed bore. Hopefully it will shoot well-I'll find out later today. It does have the spring loaded firing pin.

I have been bidding $250-$275 on laminated stock refurbs since 2002, and never won one. Now my original, non-refurb 51 Tula has company!

congrats 2X .... from a collector point of view the less parts replace the better so having the original barrel with a bit of frost aint so bad .

Actually after shooting 40 rounds and then cleaning it the bore looks better. What appeared to be frost is gone. There may just be a little etching in the bore. Seems accurate enough, but it's hard to tell when shooting in the rain without a rest.

Looks better in person! I'm hoping the other one is really nice too-hard to tell from those pics.
