I know....but whats empty 50 bmg brass going for these days?? At least 50 cents each and theres 15680 pounds of it, lol thats alot of empty 50 cal brass. over 20,000 pounds of 5.56 brass. We're talking millions of empty shells, maybe not millions but hundreds of thousands...who knows maybe millions.
man you could wear an rcbs progressive press out and never put a dent in that pile. :goof:
buy it all, keep a few thousand pounds for yourself, sell the rest in 1000 rd lots and you might make you money back......if only i had enough cash to gamble on that.....
G
Do they keep the $10,000 deposit or do you get it back if you win?
i think you get it back, the 10 grand deposit is to make sure you have the funds to pay for the 20 tons of brass before you start bidding and run up the price for legit bidders most likely......
Did they run it through a popper first?

i.e. did they cook it in an oven to see if anything went "POP"

IIRC they do cook it.
Just make sure you dont have to mutilate the brass. A guy on a forum actually bought a drum of .50 bmg brass, didnt notice that in the auction. Some guys from the .gov actually came to his house to make sure he had destroyed it all. He said it takes a LONG time to crush a couple thousand .50 BMG cases with a sledge hammer.
