Did russian AKMs have their serial number stamped on the receiver? If so was it the whole # or just part of it and more importantly, where was it done on the receiver?

No they didnt..Thats why I dont see the importince of matching a kit to a reciever

all of the factory made serial #'s on AKM's were placed on the trunion itself.
No one made a military AKM that had serial #'s on the sheetmetal reciever

I had a feeling that was the case. I too don't see why having a rebuilt kit's receiver # needs to match, maybe to increase value?

In some cases ther are proof marks on the reciever though..This is seen in the soviet stuff alot..
