What are my options to getting the barrel on a SAR 3 threaded? Do I have to have the barrel turned down? I would prefer to get it threaded to 14mm l/h. If that is not possible can I get a new threaded front site base or must the barrel itself be threaded? Thanks for any info/help!

Most likely your barrel is already too small to be threaded 14mm. You probably can thread it 1/2-28 and then get a 1/2-28 to 24mm adapter and then screw on a Bulgarian muzzle brake. That's what I did with my SAR-2. Go to AR15.com and do a search for a member named "wjm". He rents the threading kit and it only takes about 10 minutes to thread. I threaded both of my Romanians with his kits.

I had mine threaded 28 by 1/2, its fine global makes brakes and adapters in that size, I wish that i did the romy threaded front sight block though.
