Can I use a touch up marker such as Birchwood & Casey gloss black?

Should I just cerakote or gunkote the entire thing in semi-gloss black?

Should I have a auto body shop attempt to fix it?

Or last choice do I just throw it in a dumpster?

Help!!

It's a baked on phosphate finish.

I would just cerakote it to duplicate the finish on the other parts of the rifle.

PRDUBI, Damn I wasn't even thinking about baked on phosphate. I was hoping that since the technology back then wasn't as good their way of finishing or duplicating would have been easier by now. Ok so Cerakote does seem like a good way to go then. I'm wary on who to send it to since the dust cover is a serialized important part. I don't want it to "get lost" in the mail. Thanks for the response! I think I'll make a final decision by next week.
