I read a post on another forum.

The poster was Atlantic Firearms, saying they don't know when they will have any more SA M7 Carbines, and they went on to say that they think a parts shortage has caused Arsenal to have not been able to make SA M7's for about three months. They also stated that they are not sure they will EVER see any more SA M7 Carbines.

Quote (Atlantic Firearms): http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/showpost. ... ostcount=3

Is this true?

Don't know what might be causing the shortage or if there is one for that matter. Having just acquired one in 7.62x39 (a SA M-7 A1) recently wasn't too big of a problem, although I did speak to two people at Arsenal whose attitude was seemingly disinterested and maybe even a little grudging towards me and the honest questions that I posed regarding their product supply and availability as well as some technical questions about their rifles.

His response to my question as to if there was any shortage of any particular model of rifle was a mumbled: "I dunno."

Honestly, I have gotten better and more articulate and knowledgeable responses from after-market suppliers and members of this forum, not to mention friendlier attitudes. Kinda hope that they are not devleoping the attitude that seems to be so prevalent throughout the industry.

The price for my SA M-7 A1 was pretty acceptable at $769.00, but I had to hunt around for that as there were several places that are asking for alot more than that for the same rifle model. Go figure.

Maybe that means that supply of the M-7's is dryin' up.

I'll try to find out and inform everyone of what I discover.

SAM 7's

I purchased a 7R last month from a reputible dealer by way of the internet...he contacted me about two weeks ago to say that he had received a "few" in within the last week and wanted to know if I was interested in purchasing another...he mentioned that it looked like availability on the SAM7's would be very skimpy to none existent for the next 7-8 months. Just a note here about what little I've heard.

The story we were told is that alot of the small parts come from Bulgaria and the factory was busy filling a Military contract, as far as the Carbines, they seem to be built about twice year from the factory about every six months or so, my guess is that we will not see these again until late spring or early summer. The entire SAM line has been very limited for the last 4-6 months and I would anticipate it will be tight for a bit more .

Atlantic Firearms, Just recently got an SA M7 A1 from you (last week). Any chance of a retro-active discount ??

Just kiddin' !!!

Actually, I just wanted to say thanks for shipping it out so quickly. It got to me in pristine condition. Your service was fast and professional; a quality that seems to be a rare commodity these days. In the coming months you can expect more business from me. Thanks for cooperating with my armorer.

Thanks for jumping into this, Atlantic Firearms.

I have known for some time that different SA M7 models are made at different times of the year.

The new wrinkle is rumors of parts shortages going all the way back to Bulgaria.
