Replacement of Saiga 7.62 Trigger Guard/ Mag Catch

I would like to replace the trigger guard on a converted Saiga 7.62 with a AK trigger guard/ Mag Catch and Lever stop. Could I remove the rivets from the factory mag catch and use screws to affix the AK guard and lever catch? I would rather not rivet it in due to the rails being in the way.

Look down towards the bottom of this thread here:

I have a photo of two Saiga's I'm working on. One is getting a brand new riveted trigger guard, the other is getting a welded trigger guard hoop using the Saiga mag catch post.

I suppose you could screw a trigger guard in place. THere is room to do so.

Threaded Plate

 There exists a kit consisting of a 4-hole threaded plate w/screws for attaching the trigger guard without using the 4-rivet method...try "AK Builder" as a supplier..a couple different venders sell the kit..
