Hello,

My VZ58 hand guard has yellow numbers hand painted on it. What is the best way to remove the yellow paint without wrecking the handguard finish?

Thanks,

JJS

Start with tooth paste and 0000 steel wool. Bakelite is pretty resilient stuff and tooth paste is used to clean bakelite. Steel wool will not hurt a VZ handguard unless you are grinding it in like a madman. Just make sure you use 0000 or you may scratch it up pretty good.

Acetone. I just removed my RED numbers. Your bakelite is impervious to it... don't use an abrasive.
