A friend of mine just ordered a new Ewbanks receiver and I noticed something on it that doesn't quite look right. Here's a picture of it:



Do you think this is going to cause us some problems in the assembly or function of the rifle or will it be fine? The hole still seems to be pretty tight on the pin (we will actually need to make it slightly larger).

Getting the shepherd crook spring under it will be a PIA. It is okay to ream the hole out, it is not uncommon. Function should be okay.

Peen the bottom edge up to where it should be. Support the inside of the receiver with a steel block in a vise & roll the edge over with a hammer & punch. Don't go too nuts or it will look like you beat it with a hammer.

What he said and use a buck (steel or aluminum block) so it doesnt have a bunch of hammer marks, use a fixed block of steel inside (thicker is better) :grin:
