RAS47 falling apart after 2,500 rounds
Well there is you second "Like" and this is why, because you are smarter than the average Mope out there.Exactly why I joined this forum last night, the wealth of info
Niles I also did some research and bought it based on reviews from friends who own it and let me shoot it and also YouTube reviews before Robski did a review . I spent only $500 for my RAS47 magpul editon but I will keep it and use century warranty if any thing happensBecause I don't know AK's...
I hope you read the Century warranty.and use century warranty if any thing happens
Good point. My experience with a century warranty is this-they warranty the gun for one year from the date of purchase. If you buy it from a wholesaler, its ONE YEAR FROM WHEN THEY purchased it, not when you purchase it. The reason I know? I bought a NIB Yugo from J&G and then re-sold it. (I had an FFL at the time) About two weeks after I sold it, the buyer contacts me and says the gun won't feed properly. I take it back, test fire and confirm his complaint and contact Century. They tell me that J&G bought it originally and the gun is still under their ONE YEAR warranty. I dodged a bullet with this one. I sent the gun back to them and they fixed it. I sent it back to my buyer and it was gtg. Now that was about four years ago, so I don't know if anything has changed vis-a vis century warranties. ymmvI hope you read the Century warranty.
I learned the hard way. Warrantee was up on a wasr under folder I bought in 2008. Not only would the magazines that came with it not fit in the gun (remember only the magazines that come with it are guaranteed to work.)the rifle had ejection issues. When I called they told me tough shit but we will send you a rusty beat up replacement magazine. Incedentally it didn't fit in the gun either. I expect way worse service out of them with the pos47Good point. My experience with a century warranty is this-they warranty the gun for one year from the date of purchase. Yep., sometimes the case. The early Beryl rifles and other such examples.Early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
I would like a DDI milled rifle. They have had my interest for some time but I just cant pull the trigger on that one.It appears the incidents on "not running" or other anomalies on the RAS47 are not very common in what I have read so far. I do not own one nor have any interest in a USA made AK firearm.
The AKOU/Rob Ski tests are somewhat informative and part entertainment. Whether an individual uses or treats their firearm in that manner is a individual dependent thing. He seems to be a straight up fellow.
The internal wear observations are the more valid observations ., IMHO.. Whether they affect long term use or reliability is yet to be seen.
As with the early days of the less than stellar USA receivers and barrel making. Those products have evolved and improved greatly over time. There are now in the marketplace a number of adequate and high quality USA made receivers and barrels. With different features and coatings available as well as choices in caliber or even model specific.
The early USA made AK firearms and their owners., might be the "test" cases and suffer some of the warts and bumps in the road to an improved product. Dunno?
