The bolt seems to move the safety down a bit when I engage the notch.

Should I put more of a slant on the front edge to "catch" it better?

I am aware that I still need to file the notch better. It was getting late and I just wanted to take the pic.

Now I just need to add a piece to the middle of the arm so I can get my finger on it easier.

Angle the forward part of the notch (where the handle pushes against the safety) rearward a tad. That way it LIFTS the safety rather than push it down. i.e. Like this (exaggerated)

|____\ <----This will push the safety upwards

Instead of like this |____| or this |____/ <--- these two notch shapes will push the safety downwards.

You notch looks like this /_____/ now. File it to look like this: |____\

Clear?

Templar, I think my cut is deeper than the Blackjack.

Stazi - Yes, I get it. That's what I was asking if I should do.

Thanks guys.

I think, as long as I can get my mag situation (from another thread) under control, and if my red dot actually holds up, I might actually start to like shooting my AK again.
