My Uncle went to Alaska as soon as he came home from WWII.
They took a half dozen 03's and some pit bulls toward off Bears, My Aunt has shot a couple out the kitchen widow, but generally the dogs would run them off.

Bears are just primeval in their strength and speed.
I've had little experience with them other than seeing them cross the valley and use our trash cans as a Buffet table, or glassing them early morning on a deer hunt.
I've seen a few YouTube video's where they toss a 200 llbs Man like a rag doll and then go to the pile of what used to be human and absolutely use the body as a trampoline.
