POSP scope mount...

Gents,
This is a short video of a guy shooting a WASR with a POSP scope.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3Osu-sEGC4

I recently purchased one like it and have it mounted on mine. However, note when he mounts the scope at the beginning of the video, the lever to tighten it in place has a small piece sticking up that prevents the lever from going all the way under the mount. I just thought this unusual and wondered why it just does not sit flush under the mount, since it leaves the lever sticking out somewhat and looks awkward, as well as it is now able to get caught on something if you were moving it around.

Secondly, anyone know where he got those scope covers? I like those better than the ones that come with it.

I'm not much of an optics guy, but thought this would be fun to monkey with at the range.

Looked like butler creek scope caps. Just take your scope with you to bass pro or gander mountain or any gun shop and find ones that fit. (or you can meaure them and order online).
As far as that lil tab, probably didnt push hard enough to make it close. I plan on getting one of those scopes in the near future.
He probably doesn't have it adjusted correctly, but it is tight and sticks out.

I'm sorry...you were saying about something sticking out?? :wank:

You have to flex the locking lever down a little to clear the bottom of the mount, then push it on in against the receiver, where that tab then locks into the notch in the bottom rail of the mount to prevent unintended unlatching.

I put one of these on my WASR22, and had to spend part of an evening flat filing the receiver rail before the mount would even slide on , assisted by a plastic mallet.

...interesting because I had to do pretty much the same thing with mine...no filing involved, but after I oiled the mount and the rail, I still had to use a plastic mallet to get it on. After 3-4 times putting it on and taking it off, it seemed to work a little easier. I don't think the guy in the film is doing that. He is just pushing it over until it stops against the outside of the mount.
