Isn't that a Type III? Just when I think I've got the bayonets down.....

The term Type I, Type II and Type III are generalized Collectors terms meant to describe the evolution of the AK type bayonets with the wire-cutter provision. The "Type III" bayonet would be the last or current manufactured bayonet. With that said, my Polish is the "early" type or Type I. To confuse you even more, there is a "Transitional" Type bayonet that fits between the Type I and Type II. :goof:

Thanks for the info. I was under the impression that the Type 4 bayonet was the current production model. Oh, man......

There are three types of AKM bayonets.
The "old school" bayo is considered to be for AK only.
