Can anybody help identify this rifle? Is it a local gunsmith mod?

Thanks!

East German cut down MPi-KMS-72....I think it may have it's own designation but it escapes me at the moment. (I'll look after I post this)

Cool! It's the first one I've seen pictured. Or at least noticed in a picture.

As an export model that would have had the designation "StG AKMS-K." Not sure what year those were exported off the top of my head but I think it was very late like '89. The domestic version was just known as "MPi-KMS-72 Spezialversion" and was unique in that it had tritium versions of the EG clip on night sights and was issued with an aluminum silencer. Also had a scope rail. Production began in 1986 and they were issued to MfS (Stasi) agents/units.

I recently bought a WASR with a FUBAR'ed mag well and am looking at using it as a donor for a build on a new receiver. This might be a fun gun to try and duplicate.

Got any specs? Barrel length, etc?
