They have arrived  ,

i have 14K plus rounds inbound and will follow up with a proper review once i have had the time to run them for a bit. The PKM and accessories as sold by MarColMar are WAY nicer than i was expecting. Every single item included with the kit looks brand spanking new.

The Vector RPD was also a pleasant surprise. Very impressed with both weapons, i must however rid myself of their glossyness and i forsee krylon in their future.

I would like to thank Dave Bane for having the patience to deal with me,i ordered the PKM while still in Iraq. Limited comms and the time diference makes everything a gigantic pain in the ass while trying to conduct business.

Negative,
every combloc weapon i have ever seen/used was a gigantic beat up POS. Pretty nice seeing a reconditioned one
Very, very, very nice.
What do those sell for in the sandbox a few hundred lol. Those are some beautiful guns you got they should be some sweet shooters :hail: . Maybe one day i can afford a rpd  ..
Well,
the boys at Henderson Defense got my barrel done (i bought a 3rd bbl from Mr. Bane).

Im going to throw an XS sights Trijicon post on it,and i have a railed forend/vert grip/and 50 round soft ammo bag at the house. Will get it thrown togther and lay some waste next time im stateside.

How cool - a "shorty" spare barrel. Too neat! You better post some photos of that thing on the weapon!
avn762,
the reasoning behind the shorter barrel/rail system/vert grip etc are just to make it easier for firing the thing on the move from the shoulder.

Blackheart international has been pimping a "SOPMOD PKM" kit. Included are the rail/ offset vert grip/trij sights/shorty barrel/and a folding stock for use by guys who are running the PKM in assault mode OCONUS.

With the tube in the stock of the semi-auto PKM the folding stock is a no go, but the other parts can be retrofit to the semi auto guns.

I was interested in getting a keisler defense picatinny rail system for mounting a Red Dot optic on the feed tray cover but another guy with one of the guns built on a Russian kit said it wouldnt fit on his gun for some reason. Scratch that idea.

SOoooo... im going to stick with what i have available. Im not a collector of guns per say, i shoot em until they break  and anything to allow the gun to become more user friendly gets a nod in my book.

Looking forward to getting her up and running with the cool guy stuff, perhaps we need a "Practical PKM" forum around here

Well back stateside again for a bit. Got the barrel from Henderson Defense/rail system and vert grip installed. Having a bit of trouble removing the front sight post to install the XS sight (thing is frozen solid and wont budge, so i soaked her in kroil). Anyway a new pic with the shorty barrel installed.

Handling is much improved, going to the range in the AM to shoot some steel and will see about getting some more pics/vids up

Great minds think a like bro. Who did your barrel work...BHI?

Thats pretty sweet with the orignial bipod on that piece :hail:

Had a long day at the range today. Some friends came up and we shot the hell out of some steel from 100 to 250 meters.

Put 1250 more rounds through the gun with 1000 on the new barrel. Runs like a champ.

762, i have shot all kinds of shit. Yugo brass cased ball, russian light ball, czech light ball, wolf ball, bulgarian heavy ball you name it.

Im not picky if it runs i shoot it.

Was running the shorty barrel on position 2, it was choking on occasion on position 1 with yugo ball.
