The rifle on at top is an original uncut 1953 AK-47 Type II pre-sample. The rifle on bottom is a 1953 Russian AKS-47 Type II rewelded from block steel and original parts into a semi-auto rifle for a customer. The full auto, uncut '53 is just pure excitement to shoot. Enjoy, Steve

Awesome work over there! Stoked to see those examples. Thank you! Truly jealous you got your hands on that t2!!!!!!!!!

Why do you think they painted some of the furniture black? Ive got some t1 and t2 hardwood grips that have been painted black.

Not really certain why. Have heard some speculate that they were painted like this on the PLO rifles. Have not been able to confirm. Steve

Thanks for posting these pictures. I have been wondering if that pre-sample jewel would ever show up here. Handling that rifle with the slab side steel mag immediately explains why
stamped receivers and Bakelite mags came into being..she is heavy!

I think j-rod might need a time out..lol
