Here is the situation,
I picked up a Yugo M59, the previous owner had cut the barrel down to 16 1/2 inches. Now the weapon will not eject the fire cases.
I have the part he cut off and I have removed the front sight/ bayonet assymbly. I would like to mill down the barrel and put the Front site back on, thus giving me a "Para-Troop" wanna be SKS.
Any suggestions on how to address the Gas issue?
Should I lighten the operating rod spring? Do I need to open the hole in the gas block??
I usually don't butcher a rifle, but this may be away to at least bring it back to life. It was once a nice Yugo SKS, it is not one of the 59/66's. It has matching numbers and a super bore.
Thanks,
