What is the difference between the Redfield "widefield" and the "Lo-Pro" they look the same to me except for the turret markings. When was each introduced? Is it a mere marketing strategy? or are they different? ....and yes for some weird reason I have an itch to stick one on an AK. My first .22 had one of these on it and the silly TV shape inspires a lot of good squirrel hunting memories and pleasant outdoorsman type vibes.

Widefield was introduced back in the 1960's. It was in response to folks wanting a WIDER field of view. This was also in conjunction with the military scopes they were making also. The military did not buy more than a few for testing. Redfield was making the early sniper scopes that were named after their inventor. I can't remember it right now as old age has hit me squarely in the ass. LOL

As to their being named 'Lo Pro', it has to do with whoever owns them now, not getting 'Widefield' in the buy out.
