Got it at the local Bass Pro for just $149. Couldn't resist it!
Figured it would give me a reason to fire up my bluing tank again!

Anyone else here built one? It needs the inletting tweaked to fit. Filing and sanding of course. Any tips of linkage to good sites will be appreciated.

I found it after I had bought this. The pistol kit was well over $100 below retail, so I couldn't pass it up.

Lyman 50 cal Plains rifle. They'll share the same balls, patches and caps. Need pistol grain powder for the pistol though. I thought they'd make a great pairing.
The Lyman needed some work. But most of that is done. Simple stuff to me, but must be rocket science for the average person the way it was kludged up. But for $250, the Lyman made a great "rescue" project. I'll need to re-blue the butt plate and a screw I had to make to finish it. I'll do that when I hot blue the parts for the pistol kit.
