That's a coconut oil finish buffed to a high shine.Looking good.
Do you polish them or clear coat, or both?
Try using Mothers Mag Aluminium Polish, it's what I use on bakelite mags and it works greatI've seen details on soaking/polishing using natural oils. It does bring life back to them. The only bakelite I couldn't rejuvenate very well was a Tantal lower HG.

This is what the MSDS says. No clue which ingredient is what works, but it does so very well.

So you're saying she told you that coconut oil will make anything that's rough and gnarly smooth and shiny when polished?Well shoot the wife was right that coconut oil really does it all
