I got this Chinese AK that i cant figure out the type. The muzzle is tack/spot weld, no bayonet lug
one side has the following
AKS 7.62X39
SPORTER
MFG 386
NORINCO

The receiver also has
B WEST
LA CA
CHINA

Any help will be great.

Not real up on chinese AKs but I believe it is a AK (heavier) barrel profile with the smaller trunnion diameter (19mm) Versus AKM profile. I don't know how or if matchs up with the usual classifications Type I, II, III etc as it appears the chinese did their own thing...

It is a post ban MAK (worth about $475 IMHO), with a valuable set of handguards, and grip on it ( value about $125), however someone has cobbled a milled fiberglass stock on it. If it had the correct stock on it it would be worth about another $175...again that is in my humble opinion. ymmv

the ak is unfired and i got from the original owner (~60 year old) He told me that is all original. I thought first also that it was a Mak but there isnt any mention on the receiver. I didnt know if it was imported by B west or is a kit put together on a B west receiver
